When I was younger, I was a momma’s boy. Everything my mother said was right, it was the truth. My father was just some clumsy figure who worked his butt off to make sure I had enough PlayStation games and then later was always able to go to the mall all weekend with my friends. But as I grew up, and these stupid things became less important, as my family was dismantled…I began to realize that my father was not as insignificant as I always thought he was. Then he rescued me from a seriously poor decision on my mother’s part. And from my 18th year on, my father has managed to become the most important person in my life.
My father is MY HERO. Hands down, hats off. End of conversation. I think he’s the most amazing man on the planet.
He rescued me from the law, he whisked me away to college. He has done everything in his power to reverse the effects of a very messy divorce on his children. And for this, I am FOREVER grateful to him. My dad calls me about music, he tells me about youtube videos, he keeps me updated on my siblings and relatives. He is the best father a fuck-up like me could ever ask for. I feel like more of a man because of my relationship with my father.
So on this day, I say THANK YOU DAD. For loving me, for giving me more chances than I probably deserve, and for seeing the man inside of me that makes you so happy to be my parent. I love you to no end and think you are the most incredible man I’ve ever had the honor of meeting. I hope you feel thankful and blessed and lucky to have such amazing children. Because we feel all of those things for having such an amazing father.
and now a little something to make him laugh…hope you like this one I picked it out just for you
Watch the whole thing dad, OR ELSE!
love you pops.

There are two people I have met in San Francisco that have not only employed me, but taught me so much that I am so thankful for. Brooke Waterhouse, owner and curator of Project One art gallery and lounge and Rachel Esterline, freelance stylist and hustler extraordinaire. They saw the light inside of me that no one was willing to take the time to find. ANYWAYS…
Rachel and Brooke, long-time best friends have curated their first show together, “Come As You Are” is a collaborative exhibition featuring 8 very talented artists. I wrote the exhibition brief for the show, and so was thus invited to the opening party for the exhibition. When I walked in I was met with a piece that LITERALLY took my breath away. I stood there, completely captivated by this sparkling vision by Rene Garcia Jr.

The piece must be 8 feet tall, glitter on wood. I DIE.
If you’re in the SF area, the exhibition is running through July 10th. I STRONGLY suggest you go check it out any night of the week. Project One is amazing and I hope one day soon I am working steadily with the “family” that created it.

Apparently, if my sources are correct, Andrew W.K. is gay! This is a HUGE deal for me because I have had a big crush on him ever since I saw his album cover. I will find him, and I will have him. Thank you.

Yep, DEFINITELY gay.
